Office Assistant
The Red River Métis Business Development Corporation (RRMBDC), an affiliate of the Manitoba Métis Federation, strengthens the Red River Métis economy by supporting entrepreneurs and majority-owned businesses through the Red River Métis Business Association. Through business services, networking, procurement opportunities, strategic partnerships, and access to capital, RRMBDC helps Red River Métis businesses start, grow, and succeed.
RRMBDC seeks to fill one full-time Office Assistant position located at 333 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. The Office Assistant provides basic bookkeeping and administrative support to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the office.
Job Duties/Competencies:
- Provide general administrative support, including preparing correspondence, reports, and internal documents;
- Perform clerical and data entry duties, including photocopying, scanning, and maintaining accurate financial records;
- Organize and maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems, ensuring client records and documentation are accurate and up to date;
- Respond to and direct telephone, email, mail, and in-person inquiries to the appropriate personnel;
- Review and process incoming client information, paperwork, and documentation, prioritizing items as required;
- Coordinate office operations, including supplies and orders, meetings, appointments, and calendars;
- Prepare and process client invoices, receipts, cheque requisitions, and travel claims;
- Support financial processes by reconciling bank and credit card statements, updating accounting records, and assisting with month-end and year-end procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in administrative or bookkeeping support. A combination of education and experience will be considered;
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online or similar) is an asset;
- Demonstrated experience maintaining filing systems and working in a computerized office environment;
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills;
- Experience working with boards and/or committees is preferred;
- Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
- Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
- Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
