Business Description: RDS Lighting is a Manufactures Agency for lighting and lighting control product manufactures.
The team at RDS Lighting is based in Winnipeg and works to supply and service Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario lighting and lighting control needs. We have been serving the Engineering, Architectural, Interior Design, Electrical Contracting and Electrical Distribution community for over 40 years.
We provide sales and technical support, lighting design, computerized layouts, and quotations of products for over 50 premium manufacturers that build and stand behind specification grade construction products.
We strive to develop a comprehensive and thoughtful solution to meet our customers' lighting and controls needs. Our team of people includes marketing, sales, quotations, customer service and commissioning staff. The team has 12 team members today that look after the day-to-day operations.
We have recently expanded into Low Voltage distribution equipment from Siemens Distribution under a sister company, RDS Power Solutions Inc.
Our plan is to grow our core business and develop new business with new and existing product manufacturers.

Shortline Moving Solutions, Alex Hupe
Business Description: Shortline Moving Solutions Inc. is a Manitoba based moving and logistics company providing professional moving, transportation, storage, and freight services across Manitoba and into northern and remote communities. Founded in 2015 by Metis entrepreneur Alex Hupe, Shortline has grown from a single-truck operation into a diversified logistics provider with over 85 employees, a fleet of approximately 50 vehicles, and a 50,000 square-foot warehouse and terminal facility. We complete more than 10,000 moves and freight movements annually, serving residential, commercial, government, and industrial customers.
Our services range from local and long-distance moving to storage, northern transport, and specialized winter road freight. We place a strong emphasis on reliability, accountability, and long-term relationships, and we are known for consistent execution in demanding operating environments.
In 2025, Shortline expanded its service capabilities by acquiring Greg's Tilt Deck. This acquisition added a fleet of tilt-deck vehicles and trailers which has enabled us to further expand our offerings in the construction materials and machinery transport space.
Shortline is committed to building sustainable employment, supporting Indigenous participation in the transportation sector, and delivering dependable service to communities across Manitoba. Recently, Shortline was honored with the "Red River Metis Business of the Year with sales over 1 million" award by the Manitoba Metis Federation.
